Conference Features

Get inspired

Women come into entrepreneurship for all reasons and from all situations. With panels and keynotes, you will hear from local female entrepreneurs who have used their passion and determination to build a successful business. Get inspired by their diverse stories to follow  your own business dreams.

Discover and unleash your strengths

Each of us is exceptional and talented in unique ways. Identifying the strengths and skills that are your greatest assets is the first step to uncovering which business activities and ideas are a best fit for you. Through a hands-on workshop, you will uncover your top strengths that will help you succeed as an entrepreneur.

Turn your idea into a reality

Whether you already have an idea or you’re still trying to find the perfect one, it can be challenging to know how to get started. After the facilitated hands-on breakout sessions, you’ll walk away having figured out the perfect passion-fueled business idea and knowing exactly what steps to take next.

Connect and build a network of support

Meet other women exploring entrepreneurship and create your own community to support you throughout your journey.

Why are we focusing on women?

When starting a business, women have unique needs and challenges. Some are personal challenges – they are more likely to overextend themselves and more likely to have to assume the responsibilities and heavy lifting of childcare. Women are also more likely to fear failure and less likely to take risks, which can get in the way of jumping in and sticking it out as an entrepreneur.

Other challenges  are systemic – and we may feel little control to change them.  Professional women aren’t taken seriously, raising capital is more difficult for female-run businesses, and women earn less on the dollar, which can make it harder to build up a comfortable financial base to start from.

We can empower women and support them in succeeding in business through programs that address their challenges and needs. By focusing on women, we offer them opportunities to shine and to build support networks and communities to help them throughout their journeys.
